Turbo Rebuild

I have a Garrett T Series Journal bearing turbo. Model: TA3405 , PN 466159-5003S

It needs a rebuild.

From what I have seen on youtube its fairly easy.

Should I do it myself or send it somewhere to be done?

Also, I have seen rebuild kits with a 360 Degree thrust bearing. Is it worth the few extra bucks for it? Typical rebuild kits range from $40 to $150

What are some good companies that I can send it to for a rebuild?
What does a typical journal bearing turbo rebuild cost?

I dont want to spend more than $300 for the rebuild since its a cheaper turbo a new one is about $600 bucks.

Thanks

I would send it to some one , most turbos have to be balanced and there spun to 24,000 to 27,000 RPM to do this process

Every place I called wanted 350-400 bucks. So I decided to upgrade my turbo to a dual ball bearing. I am ordering the new CHRA this week. If anyone didnt know, Garrett makes upgrade CHRA for some of their T-series journal turbos.

Thanks

New CHRA will be here today. Dual Ceramic Ball Bearing.

Will it spool faster with ball bearings?

With the journal bearings the turbo would come in at 3500 rpm I am hoping it starts at 3000 rpm or sooner.

Thanks
