Dashes in odometer and car won't start

Please help! I've replaced the battery cables and alternator...mechanic who did a "diagnostic check" deemed it was the battery cables. Please help!

Check the negative side on the battery there is a little wire thats on the big cable it might have ripped off.

Could also be the fuse to the ECU. It should be a huge 20amp under the hood.

Like I said I just put the new cables on, where does this little cable you're referring to terminate? So it Goes from negative terminal to where in other words?? Do you mean the little ground that bolts to the body right next to the battery? I've checked the fuses quickly, but I will have to pull each one and look carefully.

I've got power to all the accessories, but the odometer reads "dashes" and I get no cranking, turning over, clicking, nothing... Maybe the ECU itself has went out? Because I've tried to put a code reader on it and it won't connect to the car.

Figure out if the ECU is getting power before deciding it's dead.

Where is the power hold relay? Someone else mentioned it being bad?

Fuse #10 by the battery box, it powers the data link and also tee's off to feed 12v to the alternator.

If it is blown, it would explain why the guy thought it needed a battery cable and/or an alternator

Did you check the 30a ignition fuse under the hood? Mine was doing that earlier this year. Use a multimeter on the continuity setting; check ALL the fuses under the hood, if it doesn't beep: you found your culprit! If it keeps popping, you'll need to trace the wires on that particular circuit to get to the bottom of it.
