Negative equity is the only thing holding me back from looking at a different model.
I know what you mean. This is our third new Ford, 2011 Ranger Sport, 2012 Fusion, and the current 2012 Focus.

Our Focus is a job 2 car with only 5,700 miles on it. It spent a week in the shop a few weeks ago (no loner car was offered to us like they use to give you in the good old days when you new car spent a week in the shop) because of a nasty transmission shudder. It was fine for about 500 miles but now it's getting bad again. I'm going to the dealership again tomorrow.

We love the Focus, but the DCT problems are really starting to be a PITA!

Hi everyone,

Reach out to me with your information if you're experiencing transmission concerns; I want to do what I can to help. In your PM, please include your VIN, dealer mileage, daytime phone number, and full name; I'll do the rest. :)

My dealer (the one I bought it from, not the one I took it to a few weeks ago) is going to replace the clutches and whatever else they do when they open a DCT up this Thursday.

If the DCT problem can be solved, I'll be a happy camper. As much as I bitch about the Focus, I really do enjoy driving it....I like looking at it too!!

Thats exactly how I feel, I love the car as well.

Sooo...my clutches started chattering this week after driving a lot in the heat since I'm on holidays.I was impressed with my dealer they didnt even take the car out to hear it for themselves, they just said its stage 2 after 13-04-05 flash and ordered the parts.Am I correct in assuming the clutches have been redesigned..?my problems have been minimal compared to some on here so heres hoping...

We got the car back Monday afternoon and It drives like a totally different vehicle.
There are non of the previous DCT issues.
Finally, the Focus is as much fun to drive as it is to look at.

Please tell us what was done this time (that worked) and what was done previously (that didn't work).
