Question on rust proof & undercoat package

As I wrote in a previous thread, I'm about to make my first Ford purchase.

My dealership is offering a Rust Proof and Undercoat package for $495. I'm not getting the interior protection as I'll condition my leather myself and I'm not caring for the paint protection as it only covers environmental damages, not scratches, chips, or dings. I'll wax it myself.

Does anyone have the Rust Proof and Undercoat package and can clarify a question for me?:

Do they allow you to come in once a year and have it done or is it a one time thing?

I've researched how to undercoat with the 3M Professional Grade Rubberized Undercoating, but I'm afraid I'd do something that wasn't meant to be done.

However, if they only do it once, I don't really see the point of paying that much for it. Does anyone have specific warranty information on this add-on package? I've heard it works very well until a few years down the road and it starts to flake or peel. At that point the under coat traps moisture, dirt, salt and anything else that floats into the areas, so I'd like to make sure they redo it after a said # of years or whatever.

Thanks!

Money maker for dealer. Zero use for most people.
A luxury with no place to go.
Maybe back in the 1950's 60's it was a good idea. A needed one in rust belt states.
Now? a total waste of money.

Jerry Lundergaard would never sell a car without the "Trucoat"...(think Fargo)

Question -- I went through my Nissan today (2 years old) and noticed that the part behind the wheel spokes, like the round part below behind the bolts on this stock picture (not the outside), was rusting.

Does the rustproofing that Ford does cover this part of the vehicle?

Sounds like you're describing a brake rotor with surface rust. It's probably not covered. It'd be a non-issue anyways.

Thanks! Yes, that it is. I had never noticed it before and didn't know what that part was called.

Actually I'm a car sales man and there is a rust protection with great benefit and the warranty is actually insured for claims

The Protector Ultimate
Package A
I highly recommend it because if you get any rust for 7 years it will be cover to get repaired and painted

For the interior any stained that can't be removed cigarette burns gum interior scratches or cuts into fabric cracked leather it is covered

I personally visited the plant where all the chemicals are made and saw first hand the claim area and items that were covered and sent back to them it's amazing warranty

Make sure it's

THE PROTECTOR ULTIMATE
And it actually says that in writing

It looks like it's similar -- this is the company that provides the package for my dealership. It specifically mentions insurance claims and sounds similar to what you're referencing. Thanks for your feedback!
