I have a CX-7 turbo kicking around that someone could use! I think everything will bolt up fine, just that you'd have some custom piping for intake etc. One bummer though is that our MAF sensor may not be able to read high air volume properly. The ST uses a MAP sensor instead... Could still be fun haha

It's far enough that I can't drive a town over. That's a few provinces. :(

No need to freak out about our higher compression and boost. It's a direct injection motor so there's no concern about pre detonation since there's no fuel during the course of the compression stroke. Otherwise, the only limiting factor is how well the head-bolts hold up to the increased combustion chamber pressure.

That's not necessarily the case, fuel can be injected prior to the compression stroke even with a direct injected engine, especially if it's operating in the stoichiometric mode. Direct injection helps with fuel charge cooling due to the phase change in the chamber from liquid to gas, but there are still limitations to how much it can help.

To do turbocharging properly with high boost the compression ratio is lowered from 12:1 to 9.3:1 for the EcoBoost 2.0 L i4 GTDI vs the N/A GDI. If it was cheap and safe to boost the n/a engine they would have done so and saved the efficiency advantages of the higher compression ratio engine when off of boost.

Horseshoes and hand grenades.

The stage 1 turbo kit from ATO was only running around 4.5 psi though, which is about where the safe limits may be of turbocharging the high compression engine if you want good longevity out of it.
