Ah yes, Subarus, the sound of inefficiency.

I currently have just the stock ST exhaust and a Steeda intake. Going up hills is pure BUUUUUUUURURRUURURURURUURUUR for me. Sigh.

For my exhaust I started w/ frpp's Borla system & then added a fwerks header & a stealth muffler & it all fits.

My girlfriends Zetec sounds like a monster compared to mine and hers is a bone stock non-SVT. Of course, you can barely hear the duratec over the sound of the crappy intake on mine.

Sounds like you may want to try convincing some locals with varying levels of modifications to take you for a ride and see which, if any, sound good to you. This would be a lot cheaper than buying a cat-back just to find out you don't actually like it either, although I have a 'hunch' it would at least be a move in the right direction.

I went through about 10 different muffler/resonator/exhaust combinations before finally finding something that sounded nice with my header and mods.
