It's been mentioned MANY times.

This IS the guide and it even says...

Optional is a engine stand to help align bolt holes during installation. You dont have to have one but it sure helped!

Thanks for your insight. Hope you didn't hurt your head with that facepalm! I figured this is the thread linked on the DIY link and all I saw mentioned is it was optional and makes the job easier. Maybe I should have asked.....is this a doable job for one person without the engine stand? And what can be used in place of the engine stand?

Yes, this is a very easy one person job with no engine hoist.
You can easily move the engine around with one hand from underneath and install the bolts.
Also, you do not need anything to support the engine when you remove the bolts.
A breaker bar does help in loosening.

Thanks for the info guys. Got my e focus rmm installed today. Total time to change my oil and swap out mount was one hour....most of the time going into lifting my car due to snow built up on the ground and having to re-jack after stands sunk down;)

And it only cost $47 for the mount and bolt from tousley!

so did the bolt come with the motor mount or did you have to order that separately? also if that's the case would you happen to have the links to each of those, how is it holding up now since then? I know that its the cheap way out to get the E motor mount but Is it worth the money?

looks like elizabeth ordered them separately,

I also ordered the BOLT whis goes into the part
the bolt part number (for a bag of FOUR of them):
W716238-S442

The bolt fits the cross tie from engine bracket to RMM. and is the same sort of bolt holding the RMM in the frame.
The bolts cost $1.03 each list, I paid total $2.40 for the bag of four of them.
Ordering one is near impossible so just take the bag of four...

((the "E" RMM is used for the St as a 'fix' and the ST repair/replace kit INCLUDES the bolt mentioned above. So if FORD wants the bolt replaced.. Who am I to argue?))

Actually, the E-RMM isn't just the *cheap* way-it's pretty much the best all-around. Sure, you can get a stiffer mount, but it will transfer a lot of NVH into the cabin as well. The E-RMM gives you the majority of the benefit with nearly none of the downsides.

I installed the e-rmm last weekend and have been commuting with it for a week. I've noticed NO difference in performance. DCT shifts were pretty good without it and are pretty good now. No change.

And my stock mount was nowhere near as flimsy as I was led to believe on this and similar threads. I could barely move it with my fingers.

As far as vibration it's hard to say because I replaced the passenger side mount at the same time. Engine vibes were reduced but can't say if they would have been reduced even more had I not installed the e-rmm. I replaced the tranny mount yesterday (vibes reduced even further) so I'm gonna drive around for another week or two and then replace the e-rmm with the original rmm to really see how vibes are affected.

So for me, installing the e-rmm was a waste. An inexpensive waste, but a waste nonetheless.

As I understand it, it's far more help with a manual transmission, where a hard shift / clutch drop, usually into 2nd on hard acceleration, can send the whole engine wobbling for a couple seconds.

Disclosure: I don't have this installed, but I have experienced the wobble.

Do you "need" to replace the bolt? I ordered the mount but forgot the bolt... Maybe just hit the local ford dealer? Anyone who ordered any extras? I think tousley charges 10 bucks minimum shipping...
