Exhaust gasket HELP!!

Can someone PLEASE tell me why the gasket between my header and flex keeps getting F'd up? I tighten everything down tight, and it looks normal. Here are pictures of my last two gaskets and I can hear the current one leaking. Is there another type of gasket I should/can get (copper or something) or is there some sort of sealant that will help? I am tired of having to replace these every couple of months.

Is the flex pipe square w/ the header flange? 2 gaskets, thats what I'd be looking at= making sure the flange on the header & flex is flat & not tweaked to on side.

It looks flat and even to me, But it may be off just a tad I guess. I'm thinking of buying one of these http://www.summitracing.com/parts/sce-4200/overview/
and using some of this
and see if that fixes the problem. I figure the copper gasket should hold up better and the copper compound will help seal any un-evenness.

How long have you had your fwerks header? I suppose both of you guys tighten down the collector bolts in a even= back & forth between them evenly? Did you tighten the header to the flex 1st & then the flex to the exhaust? Your also using the oem bracket that goes between the engine block & header?

Have you tried tighten up the flex to the header 1st & then the flex to the exhaust system 2nd? You are also using the bracket that goes between the header & engine block?

I am on my third (in about 2 1/2 years) right now. I'm getting pretty good at replacing this gasket in a timely manner. LOL

I haven't tried loosening the exhaust side and tightening the header to flex first. By bracket do you mean the gasket? If not I'm not sure what bracket you are talking about. I son't believe I removed anything other then the stock manicat when installing the header so I'm pretty sure I'm using it.

The bracket that goes between the manifold & block= it supports the exhaust manifold at the lower part. You had to remove it to remove the manicat. It could still be on your oem manifold.
