Jackson racing SC need help identifying it!

well guys, I was lurking around the performance shops in my town, when I found a supercharger and intake manifold laying in the ground of a shop, the guy told me theyre for an SVT focus and was installed in one 4 months ago, he only has the manifold, sc, 2 camshaft (I didnt know the kit came with those btw...), and a black box apparently some kind of electronic controller not sure...

so the guy is asking 1k for it... the blower looks in good shape, the part Im worried about is the manifold since they can cost quite a bit... and blowers I can find shitloads in yunkyards...

I will get pictures until monday, sadly I forgot to take them when I was there..

meanwhile... what would I need to install it on my svt? and how can I tell its for an svt and not the zx3 pkg?

thanks!

you would also need bigger injectors with this and a tune and a wideband

You will also need of of the brackets that came with the kit. Relocation and support stuff. I doubt your finding m62 svt Jackson blowers by the dozens either.

So you think I should get the blower and the intake manifold and just start collecting or custom making the other parts?

I guess I can get the guy to lower the price of the blower, since theres a lot of parts missing...

The alternator relocation bracket is going to be the tough one to recreate; I really cant see someone making one without considerable skill and tools. The Throttle cable bracket can be built without too terribly much work. The power steering relocation is missing on most used kits anyway and people make do. The lower manifold support bracket seems to be missing on a fair share of used kits as well some people make a twisted steel bracket without experiencing detrimental effects and others just dont use a lower support. This increase the chance of developing a manifold leak.

Gaskets are getting to the point where you cant just order them anymore but would have to make your own. Which really isn't that big of a deal.

$1000 for just the blower and manifold and black box is probably high for a kit with unknown history.

To verify that it is a svt kit look for a EGR port on the manifold (if it has one its for a base zetec)

here are the instructions.

and the parts list for the svt kit (with part numbers)

For that price I'd pass it up and find a complete kit for a few bucks more or go turbo cause in the end that's probably what it will end up costing with all the missing stuff.

Yeh, Ive been thinking about it aswell... I guess Ill go turbo, even thou the idea of having a clean and almost stock install look on the engine bay was tempting, I talked to tom about it and he told me to pass on it, unless the guy wanted less than 200 bucks, which I doubt he will... and even if he does, all the missing parts will be a PITA to get.

I guess is not worth the time and money and I could get the same boost with a small turbo for that grand...

Thanks guys! you saved me from buying a nightmare lol
