Not a Focus, but input is appreciated.

So my sister is getting a car, a '13 Versa SV. (She likes it, and she's not really into cars so it works for her.) Now the sticker is right at $16,030 (give or take a few 10s). My parents ordered the car to come Wednesday (nothing signed). They seem to have partially agreed upon a price of $17,800. Now is it just me, or is that ridiculous? My car stickered for 19,3xx and we took it home with TTL, etc for 18,6xx.

Now I had 5% interest, say she has the same interest, what's a fair price?

If she has no interest (0% apr) what price should we expect?

Thanks for the input, guys!

Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.

Well, the price of the car is completely irrelevant to the financing interest rate and should not be a factor until it comes to how big the payments are. Go to or and price the car out. That will tell you what the dealers cost is and you can find out if there are any rebates involved also. Unless the figure you quoted is an out-the-door price that includes dealer installed options, sales tax, etc, it does seem high.

Later in the year Nissan will be offering a new version of the Versa. It will come in pastel colors, shaggy interiors and will only be available to pimps and hos. It will be called the Vice Versa.
