No start, clutch switch?

Lately when turning key to crank I get nothing.. Try 5 times and still nothing.. Then it will start just fine. Starting to get annoying.

Push the clutch in a new times and sometimes it will work.

Im guessing the clutch switch is going bad and not knowing the clutch is pushed in when trying to start?

Or ignition related?

Well the clutch switch is the cheapest place to start!!
And most likely the problem.

no, you cant unplug it... jumping would work but then cruise wont work if you do that. These have a self adjusting switch, you can remove the switch and reset it, but it is most likely worn out and wont help long. So just replace it. make sure no brackets are bent

What year? Had this problem with my 2000 zx3.

The car wasn't detecting my key. The little light on the dash next to the hazard switch would blink rapidly indicating that it couldn't find the transponder in the key. Most of the time if i just waited 20 seconds it would find the key, and start right up. It became longer and longer, and finally it stranded me at a restaurant on my lunch break from work. Missed half a day and had to replace the keys, PATS reciever in the steering column, and they had to program a new PATS code in. $420 at the dealer.... Hope you don't have this problem.

Take a look at the following link.

http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/showthread.php?t=309714

My daughters '08 with auto trans had the same problem that got worse over time until you had to play with the key for 5 minutes to get the starter to engage. It took three days of trial and error troubleshooting to find out the problem was in the linkage of the steering column between the key cylinder on the right and the starter switch on the left.

Good luck.
