Passenger side motor mounts suck?

During my ride along at for with a mechanic, I was on the subject of a very vibrant little engine. The mechanic said the pass side motor mount is too small and most likely I will go through a few of them, til ford releases a revised piece. Is there any truth to this? He said mine was fine but he had replaced many of them on foci.

Not sure about truth but if you are worried about it I think FSWerks might make a replacement polyurethane mount. It may not get rid of vibrations depending on the hardness of the mount but it should be pretty safe from breaking. There are other aftermarket manufactures too like Steeda who will probably have mounts soon if they don't already.

Too soon to tell, it is a different part than the older focus which had the issue that he is describing, but the new one does seem to be a weak point. Aftermarket ones are available.
