Spark plugs? (yes, I read the sticky)

So after reading "The Duratec Sparkplug Sticky" I now have even more questions.

So the OEM spark plugs (MotorCraft) are made by NGK?

I'm looking to replace my spark plugs. One is misfiring, and it's just about time to replace them all.

-Can't find Autolite AR103's without special ordering.
-I've read horror stories about NGK.

Now, I'm considering:
1. Ford MotoCrafts Copper Core AZFS22C. Are these going to perform just like the Autolite?
2. NGK TR6? I hear these are the equivalent to Autolite AR103's. But, again, I've read stories.

Thanks for any help. Direct me to a link, if need be, or share your own experience. You guys have been a great help so far!

You don't need the AR103, 103 will work just fine with the very slight risk that they will foul sooner than later.

A103s are found just about everywhere and kept in stock at most locations.

Great, thanks! Already found some.
Also, how do you feel about the MotorCraft AZFS22C? (If you have experience with them).

I don't have experience with them but I look at everything branded "MotorCraft" as being a 'value' product and way below 'premium'

autolight was the official part supplier to ford until they launched the motorcraft name. motorcraft autolight and ngk are the only brands i trust. usually i run the ngk in my toys boat mower atv... ac delcos are junk and have a terrible time meeting quality standards and were the parts supplier to gm (if you have ever had a gm with a problem...) bosch is another name that has struggled with quality as of late they were growing their brand too fast and lost sight of quality. there is also denso and champion to consider although i havnt had any experience with them. there are e3 too but i dont believe the powerblock/trucks/horsepower/extreme 4x4 hype. schooling taught me electricity flows to the place of least resistance and that will be one terminal, so your paying for two more that arent used.... but according to michigan tech in the upper peninsula they say there is a big improvement in power and emmissions and kernel growth......

expect this thread to get moved to general discussion by one of the mods

Good info here. I wasn't sure if it would be in general discussion or this thread. Thanks for the heads up, GT!

^that! I just put 103's in both the foci last week gapped to .055. They both seem a bit peppier and smoother sitting at lights, maybe it's my imagination. But definetly happier with these than the motorcrafts that were in them, and for $6 a car, not bad at all. Got a 30% coupon online then picked up in store.

I put the A103's in my car a few weeks ago, and with my mods there was a notible different in not only the idle but much more pep as well as better acceleration. I too was going to get the AR103's but locally could only get A103 so I went with it and gapped at .55

I highly suggest this upgrade. Another member on here had the Autolite platinums in his 2008 and after telling him my experience with the coppers he went and got some to try it out. He said it felt like a new car and experience great gains in performance. Honestly I noticed just as much improvement with this $9 mod as I did with my CAI and Exhaust Combined. It will reall make a difference when you have tune, header, and lighter wheels(=

Went to a local shop and they didn't have them, at all!
So I'll just find another. Sucks when my next day off is Sunday.
