Man it would only be sound...... if anything you might lose power. And the sound youd make would not be one to enjoy

I don't recommend it. I have mine straight piped. The noise level is ridiculous and it makes the car rattle. You will get some gains higher in the rpm range but lose some low end. Just wait and save up your money for an actual exhaust system.

When you mean straight pipe do you mean all the why to the outlet of the converter built into the exhaust manifold or a straight pipe to replace the rear lunch box resonator something in 2" like the FSWerks stealth exhaust which is 2.5 all the way though.

I mean from the cat back I'm thinking of doing 2.5" all the way back.

I'm sure it will be really loud and sound like a ricer as FSWerks race exhaust only has the one muffler right after the cat and it is really loud close to the tone of a ricer. But go for it you can always add a glass pack up front if you don't like the tone or too loud. Its not like building a house if you cut to short start over with exhaust you can always add and still look good with a good welder.

Even though I think the concept is stupid and the justification for it is worse, I'll post some pics of the undercarriage in a minute.

In for the lulz.

Edit: PZEV vehicles will have a second cat in the section of tubing in between the first resonator and the mount.
