Question Help identify if a part is missing from my 2000 Ford Focus SE DOHC

I have a 2000 ford focus SE DOHC that I bought a few months back, and I just recently noticed this part on my engine. Not sure whether something was there prior or if it recently came off or something. I'm pretty sure something goes there. If anyone knows what it is, or what i'm missing /what it goes to please help!
thank you!

The "Where's Waldo" Zetec edition!

I'm pretty sure everything's there though. On the SPI, the coil pack is mounted sideways on the engine in that big gap.

The V-8 is missing

But I see nothing wrong either.
I do see a piece of paper that doesn't belong though.

that port is not used on the focus. Ford used that same thermostat housing for other cars as well such as the contour and the zx2. The contour and zx2 use this spot for a sensor. The contour and the zx2 versions will have a hole here which registers coolant temp

Thanks. Just wanted to double check to make sure I wasn't missing something. Seems like this focus has a few things that look like they should be used for something...but are not
