Central locking help

Hi,

I've got a Focus 06 MK2, my central locking doesn't seem to be working with the fob.

I can lock the doors via the key
I've replaced battery
I've re-programmed fob
I've replaced 55 and 77 fuse which are the only fuses that seem linked to central locking in my user manual

When i try to re-programme the key and turn it four times i get the beep, press one of the keys buttons and it beeps again but it doesn't work

If i take the battery out and put it in the wrong way i will get the beep off turning the key 4 times but not pressing any of the buttons on the key so i don't think it's the key.

I've heard about fuse 63 on the back of the fuse box but i think thats only for MK1 but not sure.

Can anyone help?

thanks,

Andy

It's probably programmed fine but we have customers come in all the time with bad solder joints on their key fobs. Certain things don't work or they don't work at all. Usually it is where the battery clip attaches to the circuit board but other joints can break too.

Take it apart, see anything loose?

It's a euro version dude. We in Canada and USA did not get it. Mexico did, go figure? Use the key I say, it's 7 years old! That's a lot of button pushin.

I've taken it apart and can't see anything wrong with it, nothing loose and the battery seems to be connecting from what i can tell. It was being intermittent before it stopped working where i had to press it a few times to work but i put that down to battery.

is there any other fuses or checks i could do to eliminate any other causes? Replacement keys are around 200 which is a bit steep for a key so trying to avoid paying that if i can.

thanks for all of the help so far
