i think the car has to be seriously badass to pull off that look. the Rauh-Welt Porsches have it done nicely... they use stencils + white spray paint IIRC. they also rub a bit as can be seen in pic #2 lol

props for trying it out though

Race cars actually race, not even close in my book and not an excuse to make your car look dumb.

I also think that the look isnt easily pulled off. theindustrialist has done it well, he gets a big thumbs up from me on it:

the tire/wheel combo really helps and his ride height finishes off the look

I would agree with these statements. It isn't that it can't/shouldn't ever be done, but it should be an accessory to a relatively extremely modified late model or RACECAR.

Mk3 with yellow-

Other than Mk3 with white-

I think this falls along the same lines as Painting your calipers/drum. Do you Really want attention on your not-so-impressive __________ . To each his own. =]

I think the biggest thing is whether or not it flows well with the rest of the car. If you do something, you need to be consistent with that theme. Otherwise you'll have a cluster ____ of bs.

Like painting your calipers as said above, I think if you had a dark blue car, dark blue calipers would look okay. Or white with white, otherwise paint them black. Now if you had all disks then red may not look to bad assuming it didn't clash with anything.

So white writing on a white or car with black wheels would look good I think... Or maybe all blacked out.

But really we can give you our own opinions, but, it's really your car, not ours. So in someway I think it should reflect you...

Have to agree here. I have them on my truck tires and really like it, but on any of my cars it would just look out of place.
