Might trade in

Might be trading in my 2011 focus Sel

for this

http://www.dependableautosales.com/2..._190560145.veh

I don't want to but I am showing more use for a truck than a car right now (I walk to work so gas mileage isn't really an issue).

That being said, depending on what the car place offers me, I might be ditching the HID retrofitted headlights, 3d carbon body kit and eibach drop springs.

Hopefully they offer more than I want, I don't want to remove it all! LOL

Good looking truck, I would prefer a raptor or an ecoboost engine on a newer truck, but my wallet would not.

It might not work out, KBB has trade in at $12.5k but I did some auto trader thing and it had an instant offer of $9.5k and it emailed all the dealers around me saying I want to trade in on an f150 and they want me to bring the car in so they can "possibly offer me more than autotrader"

Sorry, the car was on the lot 1 year ago for $18k used, I am not trading it in for half of that! I would rather just use my dads truck when I need to haul something from lowes

If you got a truck available, then by all means keep the Focus. So many cars lose so much of their value, it's ridiculous. I was looking at mine in terms of lost value and in a year and a half the value dropped about 50%. Besides, you got a pretty sweet looking Focus and you put a lot of work into it since you've had it.

I just calculated it out, my focus payment is $211 a month.

If I traded it in on a truck I found with 5k miles my payment would go up to $446. Probably not doable since I just bought my first house lol

My focus was on the lot for $17,999. But I knew the sales manager so he sold it to me for $13,999 and threw in the extended warranty to 75k.
I owe $9.5k on it so I am not doing all that bad compared to it being worth $14-14.5k private party

Moved to "Ford Focus & General Car Chat".

Yeah, I would never trade in a newer vehicle like that especially if I were still making payments on it. You would be seriously upside down in the payments. To be honest with you, how often do you really need a truck? I have a truck also, but I use mine for working on the farm and constantly hauling equipment but it's not an everyday thing that I use it. The gas mileage sucks for the most part, the ride is ok but not great for long distances, it's a pain in the ass to park if you need to go anywhere in the city and if you get a flat tire on the side of the road, do you really trust the cheap scissor jack to hold up your truck? lol

All in all, think about how many times you would actually use the truck and weigh that against the value that you would lose on the trade in on your car. You probably wouldn't find it a wise move on your part.

Price of that truck is terrible at $23k. Needs to come down.

You could just get a trailer. You should be able to tow half a ton with the focus. I've towed a good amount of stuff with a Peugeot 308, which is about the same size as a focus. If you have an auto trans it isn't as good of an idea though.
