I just got a set of Firestone Affinity's on Sunday for $375.00 installed out the door. Insofar they are quiet for sure.

I would recommend Hankook Optimo H727's. Very highly rated by Consumer Reports and we've been very happy with quietness, comfort, snow traction, and treadwear on our old Altima Hybrid and current Subaru Outback H6! And they're inexpensive to boot- don't get scared away because it looks similar to the ContiProContact!

I have Hankook Optimos on my 2008 Taurus and my wife's 2005 Odyssey. They have very low tread noise and a very soft ride. They also are very good in the rain and pretty good on snow. They also wear very well. They have 10,000 miles on my Taurus with only 1/32" of wear.

However, I would not use them on my Focus . They are definitely not performance-oriented. In hard cornering you can feel the soft sidewall kind of rolling over, even in the 225/55r18 size on my Taurus.

I have been very impressed with the Sumitomo HTR AS/PO1 tires on my Subaru, very quiet and competent tires. Looking at these for my boy's Focus when we add 17" wheels.
