Kia and Hyundai both have come along ways and their sales prove they have a piece of the small car pie. And still another car that gets a proper tail pipe treatment where Ford can't even put one on the Ti models of the Focus or even offer it as an option.

Not gonna lie, the 5-door SX hatch looks intriguing. 200 hp/tq 1.6 turbo, 6 speed manual, good exterior looks, interior looks ok, and it has a boatload of tech features and options. We'll see if Kia/Hyundai will dull it down with the lifeless steering and soft handling that the Veloster Turbo has.

The warranty is not just a marketing scheme. If they could not back it up with decently reliable vehicles, they would be out of business.

Personally, I don't like kia, I think their cars have no souls, and every one of them has parts that look like the were ripped off another car. But insinuating they are garbage just because they are made in korea is moronic.

Just for your historical curiosity:

In the sport / compact department = Kia > ford

Cant compare trucks of full size suv cause they really dont have any.

Im sorry but the only similar thing i see is their size... Design? Not at all

Not gonna lie... I kinda like the Kia front end more. And the new Optimas? They're totally gorgeous man. First time I saw one, I thought it was a BMW for a split second. But... The rear ends of both the Kia and the Focus really do nothing for me... the whole "swooped back and teensy trunk sticking out" trend that seems to be happening just makes the cars look like they're confused as to whether they're supposed to be a sedan or a hatch.

Good video! I like Brian Cooley, he does no-nonsense car reviews. If it's a pile, he won't hesitate to let people know it.

Didn't Kia build the Festiva back in the 90s? OK, maybe I'm showing my age a bit. They stamped their name in the door jam for sure. Wonder what cooperation they may still have?
