essentially they will clean around the window area to remove any left over glue. then they will put new sealant on the new glass and put it in place using a fancy suction cup. then tell you to be gentle with closing your doors for a week (air pressure of slamming the door could pop it out.)

I cant imagine removing one from a junk yard would be easy, you'd have to cut it out of the glue its attached with and then pop it out with out cracking the glass. there are probably specialized tools that make it easier.

I bet a place like safelite or similar would be able to do the install in your driveway for less than $200.
