So far not available alone just the kit but if we all email Ford Racing maybe they will give in if they don't sell enough kits.

This is sort of a design I had been thinking of since the snorkel delete came about. I was always thinking of how I could create a scoop to drive the air into the air box a little better. I'm glad to see I don't have to create one now, but that's a steep price, and has been mentioned most of us with the snorkel delete already have an aftermarket filter. How would the GT500 inlet tube match up to our attachment points?

This is my 5 minute solution to the problem, and it's free. Can't beat free

I didn't want to cut or remove the flap, as I would like to be able to reverse the process if need be (doubt I ever will).

I cut a piece of clear plastic from packaging for something, about 8" by 4", and shimmied it between the bumper cover and the plastic reinforcement under it. I than taped it to the plastic piece that holds the rubber flap. This should hold the flap down in front of the drivers side grill, allowing air into the intake opening.

Thanks for that. That's about what I had in mind. However I had my body guy cut the flap when he had the bumper off to repair that. However I think the tube will still work better since there won't be any turbulence created between the grill and the air box inlet.

I did this for a while as well and the pressure started to cause a curvature in my bumper cover (it took a month or so to be noticeable). I wasn't using the same material though, so you may not ever have the issue. Just a heads up of something to keep an eye out for.

Did some digging on Ford Parts dot com and seams like the ST snorkel OEM is not much more then our delete just a velocity stack type piece maybe and inch deep. Still wish they would sale just the snorkel.... So for now just sticking with the delete and rubber piece removed I'm sure the only down side to having the whole rubber piece removed or cut is when the shutters are closed at highway speeds air pressure might escape though the oenings now exposed not alowing pressure to build up forcing air flow over the car instead though engine bay but then I'm sure at some point the rubber flap would flex at say 140 MPH.... LOL

Thanks for the heads up. I can't see that happening as the plastic I used is fairly thin, but I'll keep a look out.

I don't see any reason to order an OEM not much more then we have with the snorkel delete I would wait for Ford to give in or aftermarket to chime in.. Just my opinion.
It's 4.00

The only thing about the Ford Racing snorkel for the ST is will it put the intake at greater risk for debris/water? How low does it hand down under there? I still think for a few bucks the ST stocker is nicer than just a hole.
