Thanks for the vidi! I have done so much reading and searching on all of this intake business bit what i just want to see is the hp gain from just the snorkle delete and K&N drop in with everything else stock I see most have some other mod(s) involved..some carving up of a deflector under there which I don't plan on doing.

The carving of the shroud isn't necessary. I've been intending on fabricating a small scoop for that area for a year now, I just haven't gotten around to it.

The drop-in/snorkel delete is simply the least expensive way to reduce throttle lag and add some power. All of the intakes have their pros and cons. I simply wanted better fuel mileage and power, without spending a grip of cash on it. The cons to this specific mod is that it definitely isn't as pretty as any of the others and that it definitely doesn't open up on the top-end as much as the Typhoon or Steeda do.

I'll probably swap in my Newmission box for the trip to FF as it gets better mileage on the interstate. But again, it has benefits that are exclusive to it just the same as it has cons that are exclusive to it.

Wow yours is a lot louder then mine the only difference I noticed is a tone change but it's a lot smother and I swear (not bad language... LOL) it revs quicker and gas mileage went up.

I also had the resonator deleted, 93 octane, plus tune. I have since upgraded to the Steeda unit, but I miss how linear the power delivery was on this setup and how clean the throttle response was.

Took resonator out but sealed hole could be difference that's my next steps when tuners come out and there 3" cat back if released and Steeda looks like best intake. I always run 93 octane just old habit from 427 with 12:1 compression and these do have 12:1 the dreams I have of 400+ HP... LOL

are there dyno test for this setup? I was about to buy a K&N kit when I read about the drop-in + snorkel delete, I wish to know the difference in performance since the kit is 5x as expensive as the drop-in
thanks!

ok fyi everyone..... I have had the injen cold air intake installed by injen for over 7k miles and the other techs including Aaron are correct. PUT YOUR STOCK INTAKE BACK ON. I have more power now that i put my stock intake back on. Here are the symptoms before:
when it is hot outside or in traffic while it is hot outside the car loses so much power it acts like you have a bad spark plug or something, shifts terrible and if you put the a/c on high and accelerate then it will be blowing hot air for a moment during heavy acceleration. I read an article way back from an x ford tech and current tuner and he said cold air intakes are useless on the focus without a tune to go with it. So, I will be purchasing cold air from Aaron when he has it available with his tuner. Just my experience for what it is worth.
