Axxess ASWC Steering Wheel Controls on new HU install

I recently had a new Kenwood DDX470 installed with the Metra dash kit and was trying to use the Axxess steering wheel control module (ASWC). I had the install done at Best Buy ( I know) and they were unable to get the steering wheel control module to work. Has anyone else been able to get this module to work with a 2012? I really want to retain the steering wheel controls with the new HU.

They did try to seperate control modules so it wasn't a bad part. Probably a bad install but was curious what others have experienced. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

why you hating so much on the best buy installers? i know those ASWC sometimes are hit and miss. the access stuff is usually problematic, i havent had much luck with it over the years.

i would suggest getting a PAC part.

Not hating on Best Buy in general, just my latest experience. I have had very good results from their installers, but my last visit went south.

For example, who installs an amp without securing it under a driver's seat. Just sitting there sliding around and when asked says that they normally don't screw them down.

idiots than. you should be telling them and calling the head office, no need for shitty installs like that.

For clarification, I drove 100 miles to a different Best Buy and they were able to install the steering wheel controls for me.

Was travelling so I decided to schedule an install to coincide with my travels and am happy I did.

Best buys car audio and computer repair service leave a lot to be desired, this is coming from some one who fixes all their stuff after they screw it up. They run everything off automated CDs in the geek squad and the car audio guys use a decrepit system of "just good enough" that's not how most people expect their products installed or repaired for the 100+ dollars they spend. Just sayin

Neat to see someone else using the kenwood HU DDX series! Would you mind commenting on sound quality, EQ setup, etc? I plan on having an audio shop in Royersford pa do a HU, speaker, amp install with the DDX370 (doesn't have bluetooth).

In my case I have a base ST which has sync but no Nav. Installer found an Axxess controller to retain factory bluetooth and sync which I hope works!
