Electrical Wierdness

2013 Titanium Sedan, Power Shift, Job 2.
With the car parked and off, I cannot get the headlights to come on. I put the switch into the manual ON position, (one click counterclockwise from AUTO position), but no lights.
BUT, when I open the drivers door with the light switch in manual On, I get the reminder gong as if the lights were turned on.

Also, if I go to my parked car in the garage and push the start button just to get the radio to play, the following happens:
Headlights come on. (Switch is set to autolamp).
Climate system blower comes on at whatever setting it was on when I shut off the car.

Do they all do that?

When the car is off, headlights and brake lights do not work. This was the same in my 2002 ZX5. If you have the headlight switch to "on" and the car is off, the parking lights will still come on. That's why it's beeping at you.

If you just want to play the radio with the car off, just hit the power button on the radio. Don't press the start button.

Also, if you want the headlights with the car off (for illumination, etc.), pull the turn signal lever towards you. The car will beep and the headlights will stay on for a while (30 seconds with all doors closed, 3 minutes with any door open). You can read more about this ("Headlight Exit Delay") on page 90 of the 2013 manual.

I think the "Hdlamp Delay" setting in the information console will make the headlights say on automatically for a certain period of time after the car is turned off. I haven't played with it yet, and I don't think that's quite what you're looking for.

I didn't realize that the headlights wouldn't come on when you set them to "on" and the car was off. I leave mine in automatic all the time and never tried.

This is true. I have mine set to one minute. And it should also have them stay on for the same amount of time if you pull the turn signal stalk towards you.

I actually tested this last night. I set the headlight delay to 20 seconds (and that functioned as expected when the car was turned off). However, when I manually turned on the headlights and then closed the door, it was still 30 seconds.
