Even with the full magna flow exhaust? I wouldn't think that would be that loud.

Well my db meter shows I'm at 125db with the stealth exhaust with spikes at 135db

The stealth exhaust is louder then the magnaflow to begin with. Does anyone have headers with the magnaflow exhaust?

Magnaflow chambered mufflers are always just a hair louder than stock. I have a 05 Mustang GT as well as my Focus and do not think the Focus would sound good with just a Magnapack. My Mustang sounded fantastic with them but was far too loud with cams, no cats and just magnapacks, you could literally hear me for miles. I don't know what difference a header would make unless it removed a cat, but then you wouldn't pass smog. I noticed a slight tone difference with headers in the Mustang but no volume difference.

Get a 2.5" side exit custom made and sell the magnaflow

Looking into buying a magnaflow muffler to replace the stock one. You're saying changing this won't change the sound much?

If it is anything like the kit for the mustangs then it will be slightly louder than stock at idle and louder when you get on it but is definitely not loud. I have no experience with the focus kits just the mustang ones (and one corvette one) so maybe someone who has it can chime in.

rdsx18 is dead on with his description. No huge gain in volume, although the tone is definitely deeper.

Okay, I said "screw it" and chopped the muffler off (straight pipe besides cat) and have driven with it for about a week now. It sounds awesome at low revs and the exhaust burps on downshifting are amazing, but anything above maybe 3k and it sounds insanely raspy and ricey. Pretty sure people second guess me for a Honda, then drive by laughing.
I think what I'll do next is throw the middle resonator back on and leave the rear muffler off. I haven't been able to find any videos of our engines with this set-up, but I'm hoping it'll quiet it down some, but retain the throaty growl of the low revs.
Any input from anyone else?

I have two magnaflow round 18" straight through resonators/mufflers and mine sounds great. Loud, but not ricey.
