its normal alot of cars come from the factory that way. ive never had any issues with flex additive affecting color match it usually has more to do with at the factory the car and the buimpers dont get shot at the same time

Had my front bumper cover repainted under warranty. There was a significant difference (sterling grey). Not much better after the re-paint, though. You'd think by now they would have figured out how to have colours match better after this many years of painting plastics! Remember Saturn; parts came from all over and those colours seemed to be pretty much the same. Had the bumper cover on our Lexus RX repainted and they were able to match it 100%, and that's after 3 years. So, maybe it's a quality (read $) thing?

Same here never had a problem with mine, I think I've had four cars with plastic bumpers now. I've never had a problem. Cavalier (blue), integra (red, black, silver), focus (liquid gray), and mazda (black). Like I said eailer the only car I've ever noticed a huge difference in the sun, is a factory comp orange focus.

2013 white platinum metallic tri-coat here.

I've always noticed a slight difference in color from the bumpers and the body on my car. I even pointed it out to the salesman when I was shopping. We looked at several different models (mustang, fusion, etc.) and all of them had a minor color shade difference on the bumper and body, with the bumper usually a bit darker than the body. It is more noticeable on some colors like white platinum. Like others have pointed out, the difference is because the bumper is plastic.

also keep in mind the plastic for the bumpers is black the primer on the car is gray or white. with colors like red and white that do not cover well it will appear darker because the diffrence in the color of the base material.

I think its a different color because plastic is bull shit. Even I've painted cars and with little knowledge on how to correctly paint a car I still could match the colors correctly. Its due to the bumpers being else where off the car and the paint wasn't mixed correctly. If you paint with the same batch, it will match.

Now over time it may fade different but I doubt it.

This problem seems to be particularly glaring with Corvettes. In fact, I'm yet to see so much as ONE C5 or later Corvette whose rear fascia matches the body.

My wife's Candy Blue front bumper matched perfectly from the factory. An idiot backed into her (under 2000 miles on the car) and had to have it repainted. Not even close now, darker. I complained and they handed me he PPG pamphlet claiming normal. I think PPG put that out just so body shops would have an out.

Sadly it's very common to have noticeable difference in shade. I've seen it from every maker but some are better than others. Some colors are easier to match than others with metallics being harder to match. The fascias on my Focus are a couple shades darker than the body, not enough to put me in a tizzy.
