Proceed to the Mk3 section, there are numerous headlight threads there with both some good chair-throwing as well as good advice.

I replaced mine with Philips X-treme visions. Can't complain.

please please please don't just get a PnP hid kit. if you're up for it, retrofit some hid projectors into it. many threads about it, but here's a pic. 250 bucks and some bad ass lighting, totally worth it.

your aiming shouldn't be off from removing the entire headlight assembly to change a bulb. it'd be off if you were say adding hid's, or something else that involves more than untwisting a bulb and twisting a new one in. you should be fine just taking it out, switching bulbs, and screwing it back in

I used Hella H9 bulbs, modified to fit the H11 socket. It's not too hard, just grind off a tab on the bulb, fits right into the housing at that point. Gives at least an extra few hundred lumens, and they're nice and bright white.

They're not supposed to last as long as a regular H11, but many have found they last longer then a brighter then stock H11 (so inbetween the stock and "ultra bright" H11 options in terms of life). I've had mine for about 6 months so far, so too early to tell for sure.
