Exhaust resonator sizing

Im going to be adding a vibrant resonator to my exhaust here in about a month or so and have some questions. I currently have a borla 2.5in catback and will be adding a bosal flex with a obx 4-2-1 header and have a good idea that its gonna be way to loud and obnoxious.
With the vibrant resonator should i get the 3.0 inlet and 3.0 outlet by 18 inch or the 2.5 version. I mean, ino it sounds like i should match it to the exhaust size 2.5 but will the 2.5 degrade performance at all and will going with the 3.0 help to not hinder performance its not going to be a stock car either, ford racing head milled 0.040, FR stage 2 cams, esslinger cam gears, Short ram intake NX wet kit, blah blah blah you get the idea. Just curious on what kind i should get.

I found these

thanks for your time.

Brandon.

I would just go with the 2.5 " as the 3" will offer no performance improvement for your car..And it will make more work anyway to step it down....2.5 " will be fine, it will probably take 30% of the noise out or so.

Viney thank you, thats the way i was leaning but i just needed some other input, i didnt know if the resonators restricted alot or not. Hopefully it wont sound like a turd. Ill be going with the vibrant 18inch and 2.5in and 2.5 out. Ill try to post up a sound clip in the next 3 weeks or so.

thanks

Brandon.

That will work fine.. If you can, go a hair longer on the resonator.., but the 18" will be fine
