Fog light installation, after purchase

When I got my '13 SE hatch, one of the options I was disappointed in myself for not getting from the factory were the fog lights. I had them on my old Escape and loved them.

Has anyone who didn't have factory fog lights gone to the trouble and cost of installing them/having them installed after the fact? This is something I'm really pursuing so I would like to get some feedback from anyone with knowledge about the process or experience with this project

Well, as you can see, it's not exactly a quick an easy job to do it right. It's a shame Ford doesn't offer a complete kit.

I too was disappointed in not having fog lights. Ordered the "blinglights" that have been talked about in the other thread. The mechanic was put off at the idea of having to fabricate a bracket to make the things fit.

At that point, we went to Billy Howell Ford in Cumming Ga and ordered the OEM focus fogs, and the bezels. He put them in, and a small puah button switch, attached to the dash, right under the OEM headlight controls.

Nifty and neat installation.

How much did that run you through the dealer?

came to about $460 which included the OEM fog lights, universal wire harness, various bolts, dashboard switch, and labor.

This work was done by private shop, with Ford dealer providing the fog lights (which were about $47 for the 2). I think if you have a guy who is more familiar with Ford products than my guy was, I would estimate $200--$250 plus the lights, bezels, wire harness etc--depending on the labor rates in your area.

The labor on this was a bit heavy but I was ok with that as on several previous visits the guy had done about an hour of work each time (replacing headlights, turn signals & dimmer lights with the higher output lamps; also the first venture with the blinglights) and he charged me nothing. So I wasn't about to complain about the price.

I hate not having them on my car either. So I just tell myself it's a weight reduction mod with more aerodynamics...lol. Honestly though, I'm going to wait a little while longer and see what the easiest method for this installation is. The first guy who did it must've had a degree in electrical engineering because that thread was intense haha!
