The only way I would subscribe to Sirius/XM is if they offered it for free. The way I see it, it's no better than traditional radio, so why should I pay for it.

It's been about 6 months since my trial period ran out. I've gotten a few letters in the mail from Sirius. Their latest offer was for $4.16 a month, which seems to be on par with the offers the rest of you have gotten.

Do you guys know if that offer would include the travel link and traffic updates as well?

Nope, that is separate. It lists for $5.95/mo I believe but I got them to give me a two year deal (without radio) for a little less. Don't remember the exact amount off the top of my head but IIRC it was $117 all in. Not a huge savings but still a little less.

Mine expires in 3 days. The yellow letter I got lists
Quarterly 43.47
1yr 144.90
2yr 289.80
3yr 434.70

I was gonna renew for 2years, but after reading this, I think I'll pass and hope they send me a better offer. If anyone could maybe upload a scan of their letters with the better offers, I might call them and see if they will honor that price. I feel like I'm getting ripped off.

Just call customer retention and explain how you feel. You know they'll do better, and they know it too. What do you have to lose?

I'm still in my trial, but I doubt I'll pay for the subscription once that expires. I originally thought (mistakenly) that the radio was a "siriusXM" radio, but apparently its only a "sirius" radio.

When I called asking why I couldn't listen to the Pen's hockey games, they told me that I'd have to pay extra for that on a "sirius" radio (and not on a siriusXM radio.)

All this for low quality radio stations that, these days, have almost as many commercials as normal FM radio. (Remember when satellite radio was commercial free?)

(And HD FM seems to have a higher sound quality.)

Yes I have, several times. But back then sat radio did not exist, neither did ipods or smartphones.

Regular FM has better sound quality. That's my biggest complaint of Sirius and XM--they have the ability to have very high quality, but use extremely low bitrate compression and ruin it.

For returning customers there's a special for $4-something a month for six months. Cost me $28 for six months.
