It's not even worth $5 a month imo. Between the repetitive comedy and music channels, and the news stations that are 75% commercials, I don't plan on renewing my subscription when it expires in October.

I'd rather pay Pandora $36 a year and have some control over the content--which I did.

If I don't get renewed I guess I'll just have to suck it up with my 20,000 songs on my ipod and I like using iHeart radio.

mine ran out about 4 months ago, I get a letter from them about once a week. The letter have gone from normal renew now to Yellow envelope, Yellow letter and for $25 for 6 months with no activation fees. I havent called them to sign up again, maybe ill do that tomorrow, and I do use it a fair amount.

Yes, the music gets a bit repetitive on some of the music channels but there's plenty to switch around to plus it's better than any of the local rock stations and I get use out of the sports channels too.

It rescued my wife and I from searching the crappy top 40 or crop and cattle news across the radio dial in the middle of Nebraska.

ok, that is what i was wondering/trying to get at. I would have prefered getting it again for $5 a month plus tax and fees, but 50% still was ok, to me, for a year.

I listen to Sirius all the time. Often on weeks I am in the car alot, so it works out.

I call every 6 months and tell them I want the 6 months for $25 or to turn it off. They have renewed every time. I've got a GM vehicle with XM and we did not renew, I get the 6 months for $25 letters and email about once every 2 weeks. Even though XM and Sirius are one, they don't treat your accounts as one.

The bottom line is Sirius/XM would rather have somebody paying $5/month than losing a subscriber;I have no doubt I'll be getting the $5/month offers within a week of letting it expire. Just gotta play the game with them.

Yeah. Their business model has almost entirely fixed costs in the short term, so they're willing to practically give it away when the alternative is no customer.
