Sirius Subscription Length?

Guys,

Would somebody please tell me how long the trial subscription to Sirius radio lasts from the date of purchase? I received an email earlier stating that my subscription ends in a couple weeks. I've only owned the car since late s December. I thought it lasted 1 year.

Mine was 6 months and we resisted the their offers of $100+ for a year and just let it lapese and then within 2 weeks they called and offered us 6 months for $30 so we'll see what they offer when we let it lapse again since it's not worth more than $5/month to me and my wife since we just don't drive the car that much to justify any higher price.

Oh well...all good things must come to an end eventually I suppose. The free subscription is soon to be over. I subscribe to XM in my other vehicle, so I'm wondering if I can get a special add-on deal since I already have an established account. Now that XM and Sirius have joined forces, maybe there's a better option than paying $30 per mo. for two separate accounts.

WINNER...winner...chicken dinner! That's the deal I'm talking about. It's settled, I'll let the service lapse and wait for Sirius to beg and grovel for me to come back at a severely discounted rate.

They do this every time.
Honestly I don't understand the XM business model. Most of their revenue has to come from Advertisements now. It's worse than regular radio as far as ads go.

I really liked the comedy stations for the first week or so, then I realized it's just the same clips over and over again.

I notice an ad here and there but it's nothing like free radio and I really like the classic and hard rock stations along with the sports channels but those do have more ads but still not awful. We have Dish Network which includes Sirius so I kinda like being able to go from the house to the car and continue listening to a show or something.

Its the same with music. I listen to 80's and hair Nation. I think the DJ's do a 2 hr show and add in some of the yesterdays happenings/news. Seems 2 hrs or so later it starts all over again and same song play list

Initial trial is for 6 months. Wait to the end and one should get a deal for another 6 months for $35 after taxes and fees. I did and so did a friend.

I called the day before the second 6 months was about to end and said I wanted to cancel because of cost. I got a 1 yr subscription for 50%, or $118 after taxes and fees. When that one is up I plan to call and do the same thing. There is no reason to pay full price for a subscription.

$118 is what everybody gets offered and I plan on letting the 2nd 6 months expire and I bet if they sweat it out for a little while I'll be paying another $5/month or try to make a deal for $60-70 for the whole year otherwise I guess I no longer will have Sirius.
