Oil leaking out of car

Hey guys. Crazy thing just happened to me. I walked up to my car after work to see a huge puddle of oil underneath the passenger side front wheel of my car. I can see it was pouring oil very heavily while parked. I checked my engine oil level on the dipstick and there is hardly any left on the stick. I'm getting towed to the dealership but they won't look at it until tomorrow.
Any ideas or anyone hear of this happening?

It's a 2013 focus SE Sport

Since it is on that side of the engine, I would suspect the cam solenoid seals.

Could be a simple issue of not tightening the oil plug properly. Or the filter was not screwed in well either. Luckily you found it while parked, imagine being on a long road trip! If you got your oil change at the same place, definitely raise a stink.

Good point. With the belly panel under the engine of these cars, the oil could run from one point to just about anywhere.

If it were the cam actuator seals as I mentioned before, you probably would have noticed oil all over the top of your engine when you checked the level, so it's probably not that.

Well I got into the car to go to work from my gf's house and I didn't see any oil on the floor but when I pulled into work I got out of my car and noticed a huge puddle under the car so I or back in it and moved it into the next spot thinking the oil leak was from the previous car parked there before me. When I moved spots I I'd look and oil wasn't leaking so I proceeded to work thinking nothing of it. Till I got back 8 hours later to another puddle under the car

Any recent work done? Any pics of the engine bay? Did you drop the belly pan?

Either way, luckily you noticed it with enough time to keep it from running out and seizing your motor.

So far the only oil leaks I know of have been rear main seal into trans and the valve cover. My car was using oil because of a broken piston. Hopefully they figure it out.

There was absolutely no oil on top of the motor or any the view of anything from looking down with the hood open. I didn't have my tools in the car and I was in the parking lot at work so I wasn't able to drop the plastic cover to have a better look.
Once I got towed into the dealership my buddy who is one of the service techs who was the last one in and about to leave for the day had a quick look once it got off the flatbed and couldn't see anything as was shocked. They will get it in tomorrow morning.
As far a proken piston or anything like that there is no way. I baby the car and keep an eye ok everything throughout it. There was no signs of any leaking or anything till this happened

Just got a call from the dealership. I'm told the (OEM Ford) oil filter cracked. Very strange. I will see what other info I can get when I pickup the car later today
