manual transaxle ID
I was curious about this and cant find an answer, I was flipping through my owners manual, (05) and on page 211-212 it tells you transmission specs. Now for front a wheel drive manual transaxle ID it says code "R" - 5 speed overdrive (mtx75) and below it says code "W" 5 speed over drive (m5) . My code on the inside of my door under trans says "Z"? . Im curious on why there is no Z ? And on another note, what is the difference between the two listed? Arent all duratec (or any after 05) focus equipped with an mtx? So whats "m5". When I was looking on google trying to find an answer, could find parts that listed "z" as a transaxle ID, applications for lets say a solid flywheel is code "z", but all those are 2.3 duratecs and mine is a 2.0? It was built in 04/04 so I know thats the crossover point for generations. Is there any difference between the mtx in a 2.0 - 2.3?
