Tool carrier?

I keep thinking about making some sort of holder/tool box that is built in to the side of the hatch like the factory sub is, just ion the other side. I have a tool bag that I use currently when going on longer drives, but I am wanting more of a "permanent" way to carry tools around and not have them visible or rolling around. I was just wondering how and what all of you carry around in your rides. And if anyone knows if something like I described exists or has already been made by someone that I can get dimensions from.

A guy at work mentioned about making something that fits in/around the spare tire. Not sure the route I wanna take. I gotta do a lot more research.

If you could find a focus sub enclosure on the cheap, you could use that and modify/retrofit it to hold tools. At least that could give you an idea of the dimensions.

I also believe there are a couple of different cargo net type things for the focus but that wouldnt take care of keeping your tools out of site.

I just use a tool bag bungy tied to one side. I've never had to use it for break downs, but its there.

I've just used a milk crate bungied to one side for longer trips only. Not aesthetically pleasing but it works.

I did that in my trunk days, just trying to keep a "clean" look about it.
