Mobil 1

Hello. I know this topic has probably been discussed and doing a search only netted older threads with older Foci. Anyway

My wife has a 2011 Focus SES with the 2.0L motor in it. I switched it to 5w-20 Mobil 1 synthetic as I use Mobil 1 5w-30 in my SS Turbo and I love it. Figured the longer oil change intervals are good too.

Anyway, anyone else done the same in theirs? I know its just oil and shouldn't effect anything, but on my side in the SS Turbo Motor (LNF) the car is super picky about oils.

I've used Mobil 1 since this car was new. I've used it for yrs. Cobolt ss turbo, huh. Fast cars. The bummer part on that motor is them using a cartrige filter. You do have the special socket so not to damage the intake manifold?

Yeah, its a pretty fast car. I dyno'd 320 whp 420 wtq on a 24 psi Tune. The cartridge isn't that bad, its just a pain to get to under the charge pipe.

I figured it would be ok but like I said, the LNF motor hates royal purple and anything other than Mobil 1 or AMSOil

Ive heard bad things about Royal Purple lol. I used to use the motorcraft synthetic blend oil in my 06 but last oil change i switched to mobil 1 full synthetic extended performance! seems like a good oil so far!

Mobil1/motorcraft full syntec are the only 2 ive used, runs a tad bit smoother on mobil1 but barely. Id recommend these 2. Royal purple is nasty looking stuff and i've heard bad stories about engine ticking from using it.

I used Mobile 1 in my very raced and abused '93 turbo 1st gen DSM and over 8 seasons it never let me down but I stuck with 4-5000 mile changes and I currently run it in my 178k mile 3rd gen 4Runner and it doesn't leak and still keeps the motor purring as sound as my mom's same vintage 4Runner with 90k less miles.

I've been running Mobil 1 0W-20 in my 2008 for two years with no problems. Instant starts year round, quiet. smooth and 34-35 mpg tank after tank. My daily commute is about 30 mils one way, mostly limited access highway. I've used Mobil 1 5W-30 in my F150 and coming up on 190,000 miles.

Anyone have an idea, what mobil 1 hi mileage consists of, compared to extended or regular mobil 1?
