Added another focus to the fleet

My 15 year old gets her temps Tuesday, so I added another focus to the fleet. Its a 2013 SE sedan with 201A, DCT and the winter pack in performance blue. Don't have any pics yet because I'm signing the papers for it Monday and I'll take her down to get it Tuesday and let her drive it home.

Here is the sticker http://services.forddirect.fordvehic...DP3F25DL261268

Forgot to mention, she has no clue about the car, she thinks she will have to drive the yellow one when I'm not using it.

Also I might have to swap wheels with her, hers has the same wheels as mine except they are dark stainless and mine are polished. I think the darker wheels would look better on a yellow blaze Ti and the polished would look better on a perf blue SE.

Sorry three kids are enough.

I've had people tell me that if they had my money they would burn theirs. I tell them they can have my money if they take the wife and kids with it. The more I make the more they manage to spend.

Kids really shouldn't get new cars. Not because it's spoiling them, but because new drivers will ding it, will curb the wheels, will bang it up, and will goof up at some point and damage it. It's inevitable. Would you rather they do it on a brand new car or one 5 or 6 years old that isn't pristine? They'd probably much rather they were driving an older car when it happens too.

The car does look nice though. Congrats.

I have to agree...when my daughter Katie started driving I gave her my '02 Ranger, that poor thing got so beat up in the school parking lot. At the same time, her best friend got a new BMW M3, the kids at school keyed it, poured paint remover on it, kicked the door in, her parents had to put cameras in the driveway at home to video the vandalism. I bought Katie a '10 Focus SEL last year for college, yes the wheels all have curb rash now, several door dings from the college parking lot, and last week a nice key mark down the rear passenger door. I kind of wish I had waited and bought her a new car as college graduation gift.

Performance (spirit) blue is an interesting color. I'm trying to figure out if it's more blue or more purple.

(Almost seems more purple in bright sunlight.)

I thought both of these posts interesting... I'm a 20 year old and got my Focus when I was 19 about 6 months after I got my license so you could consider me a new driver. Maybe because I am a car guy or something to that affect I am the exception to the rule but I've had my Ti for about a year and a half now and it has no dings, no damage, no curb rash on the wheels and I haven't hit anything with it (unfortunately I was rear ended but that wasn't my fault). I treat my car like a baby because i'm so thankful I got it. We got it for $20k, I saved $10k and the parents got the other half. I'm not trying to talk bad on anyone or how they drive but it is possible to be a new driver and keep the car looking good.

I guess i'm also lucky in a way, I live in the richer part of North Jersey (without actually being rich) and I remember some of the kids in high school got M3's, Camaro SS... A girl I graduated with even got a Panamera Turbo S (Thats the stupid fast one) so compared to most around here I got a cheap car so I don't have to worry about it being keyed or anything to that affect thankfully.

ANYWAY, I Bleed Ford Blue, you're an awesome dad man. I'm sure she'll be very thankful for the car as I was when I got mine. My goal for when I'm older is that when I have kids I can get them something nice when the time comes like you have.
