I see where you talk about where they are, but the photo it references under it is just this one of the side of the car:

Any confirmation if this guide works for us sedan owners?

No reason why it wouldn't work on sedans, it's basic electrical. But the sedan only has 3 bulbs instead of 4 the hatch has. Brake/tails, signal and reverse.
I'm doing this myself once my bulbs and resistors come in and I'll follow up

On a sedan, the brake line to tap for the resister is the BLUE one, and the turn signal wire to tap is the TAN one. A bit different from the hatch lights. I did the tan one first and the resister started to smoke! BEWARE sedan owners.

Thanks for the info, do you have any pics of where you mounted your resistors on the sedan?

I can't post a photo but I put them (2 of them each side) in the same area the poster did. I used 3m double stick from Autozone. Same tape used for affixing trim on the car. Nice to have finally stopped that bulb warning. Lastly, DON't buy the 3157 bulbs from superbrightled or from ebay or Amazon. Although pricey, I bought from Autoillumination.com --- Believe me, I burned a lot of wasted money to crap that didn't work right off the bat, burned out in a few days, and a few bulbs that blew the fuse. Also, they have the brightest suckers on earth. I only went with 7 watt which is plenty BRIGHT. Good luck

So, you only need resistors for the brame and turn signals otherwide the reverse and tail lights are just a straight LED replacement?
