Unless you do ALOT of turning and braking I wouldn't bother spending the money as these $3 resisters do the job and they only get hot when your brakes are on or your signal is on for a long period of time. That's just me tho.
Someone test them out and post your results

Good points. I was thinking you'd have more flexibility for where to mount them if they didn't get hot, but it seems like you found a good location. Also, even though the seller told me they don't get hot, the picture in the listing says to mount the black box to metal, so I don't know if I trust them.

Any suggestions on a different bulb to use? The link you have in the OP is now out of stock. Also does the MK3 have the CANBUS system where we need special bulbs?

I will lookup the next closest thing to these bulbs when I get home tonight but any plasma LED bulb will do.
Yes we all have the canbus system, follow these instructions and you'll be fine. The resistors take care of that problem.

considering this since i just blacked my tails out this would make things a bit easier to see when driving
