Yeah- I know recharging it is only a bandaid for the 06 we have. But since I don't want to tear the dash apart and don't have the money for a ton of ac repairs, ill just keep recharging it once a year. Not a big deal. Ac doesn't affect drivability.

Anyway, they said they didn't find any leaks and the pressure was good. I guess it was just a difference in the systems. Never hurts to check, right? The real test on an ac is getting it to florida where its stupid hot and humid :) No other issue, I guess the sound I'm hearing is some kind if harmonic in the muffler. Just- new car I'm not totally familiar with yet, like to learn everything I can. Only thing that came up is I need brakes all around... But, brakes are easy! So that's ok :) I thought I was getting a little bit of a pulse, but wasn't quite sure... Rotors, pads, shoes... drums are good. But then ill have all new brakes! It stops fine. Ill do the shoes soon so I don't mess up the drums, but ill put the fronts off till I feel like it, or at least whatever weekend I do the oil change.

Didnt mean to sound like a butt! not complaining! Really, this has got to be the nicest car I've had, and I'm super happy with it! I've had some pretty cool jeeps (aweful gas mileage) and vintage cars (made before ac was a regular option, manual windows, no cruise) as daily drivers, but none as fun to drive with all the creature comforts. Got a bit of a way to go on learning modern cars. Haven't had too many not at least 20 years old, let alone fuel injection :) but that's what manuals and youtube is for.

everyone is always paranoid when buying a used car. there is no way to know everything about it unfortunately. that's why i prefer to buy stuff new. glad you're enjoying it though and good job getting the red marks out of it. I didn't know the brakes were that close to needing replaced, but atleast you didn't have any problems and made it down there safely.

Yep- we were gonna fight over our 06 ;) so I had to get my own when my husband claimed it, via putting his t-Rex and Boba Fett on the dash. But mines prettier now.. Haha! But I still love them both equally, awesome too with him driving the 06 to work- we have saved sooo much money on gas already.

Nice purchase. Love the ford blue. Not digging the wheels, thought the mk2 looked better with the ford 17"s.

Well, good thing you're not driving it I personally love the wheels! I haven't seen any I'd rather have yet. Kinda like something like this maybe:

Just a pic I found on the net... But I don't know, those are a bit sporty for me. I love the red on my wheels though. Was kinda thinking about repainting the interior parts a dark burgundy instead of the the blue they are painted now. My husband keeps saying ill have a superman car then :) but I don't care. It's my car!

I didn't even notice the wheels, just scrolled up to see.

From what I can gather on my phone I think they are motegi racing wheels. 116?

Nice pics. Hearty congratulations. I love your car. I hope the minor issues are easy and inexpensive to fix. Just FYI, my 01 Focus had mucher colder air than my 08.

Does the car have an aftermarket air intake? If so that's probably what you're hearing.
