Made it home with our second focus!

Made it back Friday night with our second focus- bought from a member here!

I flew out to KS to drive it back. Spent all Sunday washing waxing and detailing because of all the road dirt I picked up on my way home.. Then the last few days playing catch up- so I finally got to post just now.

We have two focus... Foci? Now! So my husband took over the black 06 and this ones mine.

Stopped off in TN for some photos, now back to real life!

I've named the lady that lives in SYNC Marge. As in "No, marge! That's not what I said!" I say "call Pete" and she goes "calling Davita" poor Davita keeps getting hung up on in the middle of the night... We have to work on our communication some :)

Heading to the shop with it tomorrow because I think the ac *may* need a recharge, just doesn't seem as bitingly cold as our other one... And also because I have a noise! I don't know, it started when I made it to GA. This belt sound? At low revs with the engine under load. Honestly never heard anything like it- don't know if its some kind of reverberation with the custom exhaust or a tensioner going. But, no time to try to figure it out, was just gonna drop it somewhere for the day.

Got my husband to wash his too ;)

Went and got a quick shot after finishing cleaning:

And from my trip:

Wow, i don't think I ever saw it that clean! good job. Pleasure meeting you and I wish you the best with it and glad to see it went to someone who appreciates it and will take care of it. Hope you both can make it out to FocusFest in July.

On a side note, i know the exhaust does make it sound a little weird so hopefully that's all it is. the AC hasn't been used in quite a while since I didn't really drive it, but worked fine last time i remember using it. It is possible that isn't low though, but won't know til it's tested. Hope you can get it all worked out quickly.

Kipp- told you I was OCD about my cars :) got the red marks buffed off too! 3M is the best.
It was good to meet you too! Definetly looking into how to make it happen to get there during FocusFest, have to see if its in the budget and shedual. But I love ma car! I keep finding places I need to go so I can drive.

Haha, I didn't want to bug you with more questions- million questions girl over here. Yeah, the ac is cold- was going to one of those free ac check deals, just to make sure- at least the the place that does that has never tried to convince me of unneeded repairs, and I don't trust those part store gauges. Our 06 has a slow leak somewhere under the dash- not a big deal, just keep it charged but it was good to find out just to keep an eye on it. I know the system is pretty different than the 06, so it may just be the way it is. Either way, free being the keyword.

As for the sound- I don't know, it first happened in GA when I had to let the revs drop kinda low trying to get on the highway. I figured out its if you hit the gas after the RPM's drop to like 950. Haha- it almost sounds like the cars making a rasberry combined with the sound a turbo makes when it's going... Uh, nope, can't discribe it. :) doesnt sound like a bearing, only happens under load, it didn't sound like the exhaust did the rest of the way, got a bit of a rattle/sputter sound to it, but vaguely kinda like a belt slip. Honestly have no idea. Does that sound familiar? I know im always paranoid with my cars and thier noises. I figured check the pulleys and the tensioner, just to be safe, if its not that.... I guess I'll ignore it. What I could check without taking stuff apart all seemed in order....

Thank you for replying to my post! Glad you got to see the picture :) it promptly rained, so not so clean anymore.

Thank guys for the compliments on the photos!

And yes Calebstubstad, a very good seller! He put up with me and all my many questions, and went out of his way during the sale! And and excellent host for the time I was there (and in a rush to leave cause I was freezing and chattering like an idiot!!! Pssft... 30 degrees, my bloods gone thin) thank you again, kipp! I do love it!

I would expect to drop some serious dime on dryer orfice tube and compressor........recharging it is only a band aid, she might have a leak somewhere.
