MFT voice command won't recognize "USB" command

When I was using my iPod I could switch to it using the "USB" voice command. I have switched to using a 16gb USB stick and while it seems to work ok, it will no longer recognize "USB" as a device. I don't get an error message or tone, ir just doesn't do anything.
  • Hit voice command button
  • Say "USB"
  • Wait for response
  • After a few seconds it just goes back to playing the previous source

Does anyone else have this issue?

Hi, dervari -

I haven't heard of this, but I'm happy to look into it. Do you know which software version your Focus is running? This can be found under the SYNC UPDATES tab of your www.SyncMyRide.com account. Otherwise, PM me your VIN and I'll take a look.

If you are up-to-date, I recommend performing a master reset:

http://support.ford.com/sync-technol...c-myford-touch

Please note, settings will be restored to factory defaults.

Let me know if this helps.

Jaclyn

Yep. I would try rebooting the system first. Master resets are a PITA (for the above reason that they wipe so much out).

Here is a little app you can use to try a reboot if you want:

http://outofmytouch.com/reboot.html

It is a delayed reboot, meaning you throw it on a USB drive, plug it in to your car and let it install. Next time the car is shut down, it will reboot the system (and not wipe everything out).
