Let's just call it a revival?

Several months ago i met a man named Jeremy Gillings (slocussvt) and a friendship was made. I had a convertible e30 I had traded a $500 gaming pc i had built for it, it had a leaking top and every time it rained i was forced to stay at home because my car would suddenly become a pool. I ended up selling that e30 and purchased a coupe 325, which we was sure it had a blown head gasket. I paid $800 for it, it had perfect interior but ran like crap and overheated. It needed a lot of work. One day Jeremy sent me a CL add of a 2002 SVTF that had a "top end knock". After several days of negotiating we loaded up the e30 and headed towards Atlanta to make a deal.

The owner of the SVTF took one look at the interior of the BMW and decided he had to have it...

So a deal was made, straight up trade. e30 for SVTF.

So we got the car home, the timing was way off and the compression was really low. After much debate, we decided to tear the motor down.

Hows my bearing look guys? Found the culprit of the "top end knock"

The head was sent away to be rebuilt.

It was sooooo dirty, I got in there and scrubadubdubed it up!

We scrubbed....alot. Then we had the bright idea, since his pressure washer was screwed up...we loaded it all up and took it to the car wash. LOL. (Note: It was every bit of 40 degrees out that day, and we both had flip flops on...rofl hippies)

After much cleaning and prep work, the block was painted...Chevy orange-red. Just cause i can.

Once the head got back from being rebuilt, we put it all together. I stripped the valve cover and painted it wrinkle black to add a little...flair to the engine bay!

Engine out of car, and before Eibachs were on it. Sitting a little high!

The motor is now in the car, I've ran out of funds and basically I am waiting on the cash to be able to buy a right lower control arm to finish it all up so I can finally enjoy the car. I've met some really great people along the way and would be no where without my friend Jeremy. Just figured I would give you guys a glimpse into the build. More pictures to come after the full suspension install. Hope you guys enjoy!

They're pretty awesome cars. They have there quirks, but after you get them sorted...they're amazing.

Yeah same with my st, I've driven svt's too they handle great. Just not as responsive on the pedal as my car in my opinion.

Looks like the progress is coming along greatly. I am going to move this to the Showroom section so it can be shared with more people.
