Here's pictures, starting with a few of the last ones with P.E.S. #2:

That perfectly fitted valance

Say wait a second, I've got a four square information screen now with trip time, avg mpg, trip distance and dte all on the same screen.

Of course it's lacking the average speed and instantaneous fuel consumption screens of the Euro models, but it's a start

Directly the opposite of why I would even want a ST.

It would have to be the wet clutch version of the powershift dct with a higher torque capacity, or more likely they would use the 6F35 that's already in the Escape with the 2.0 L EcoBoost which uses basically the same basic unibody with different exterior sheetmetal and interior trim to convert the c-car platform into a compact utility.

The whole point of the ST is that it's a special model higher performance version of the car your neighbor drives.

Not necessarily a wet clutch, the Fiat C636 can handle the torque of the ST, Ford just needs to make one that works and will work with the torque.

I would probably say the Aisin AWF-21 out of the Fusion Sport would be a good choice but it's for a V6.

Ford isn't going to build or buy a dry clutch DCT at the moment that could handle the torque, therefore they would use an existing and certified powertrain combination to avoid having to re-certify the vehicle if they can.

Ford and Getrag already had a joint venture for the wet and dry clutch DCTs, the wet versions can be built to handle the torque as they sit behind torquey diesels all day long.

An Aisin transmission would be off the table again more than likely after they moved transmission development back in house between them and their other joint venture with GM.

Anything is possible, but so far it doesn't look like an auto ST is coming anytime soon anyway.

The last Sports were using the 6F35 before the end afaik, they were moving away from using the aisin gearbox.

Traded my Titanium for the ST last September. Got a great deal on it because my Titanium was in the shop constantly with transmission issues. Needless to say, I've only been back for an oil change, the way it should be!

After hundreds of posts extolling the virtues of frosted glass and dct gear ratios... I didn't see that coming.

Anyway, enjoy the new ride.

Lol

I guess I'm not as predictable as you thought.

Thanks, I intend to enjoy it.

Best decision I could've made....although I do wish the ST was available in Blue Candy.
