a proper stereo install kit for a 2003 zx3

What a pain in the ass to find the correct kit to fit my car. Scosche fd2080 does not work, i am willing to bet the fd3090 doesn't either.

Can anybody tell me with absolute certainty what kit i need to correctly fit my DIN aftermarket stereo into my 2003 zx3?

/edit

I found it! Metra 99-5806 kit. Just bought it online at Best Buy and will be picking it up tomorrow.

Was just gonna` say , I bought a dash kit for my 2002 ZX5 from Crutchfields , and it worked perfectly . The little cubby hole below the head unit is nice for storing the odd nick nacks . Don`t really know what brand it was tho`...sorry

Not to thread-jack... what are the size of the front door speakers (I'm not fluent in radio-speak yet)?

?? an 8" ?? an 8" speaker wont fit in a 5" wide hole...

cant even get all 6.5 to fit with out cutting/bending metal

6x8 will fit in the stock location, or at least any with no bigger then the same size cutout as the t1 6x8 i had before. my 6.5 punch pro mids wont fit though and a pair of focal 6.5 coax wouldn't fit.

you can fit any 6.5 in but you would need a adapter or a 1/8" thick piece of wood cut into an adapter. most 6.5 that wont fit is because you cant get it to sit flat and line up with the stock screw holes. that or cut/bend the metal to get the speaker to set flat and line up or drill new holes.

for future reference, don't buy install parts from walmart. they are more "universal" with several applications and they don't fit as well as others. plus the quality of parts from there just aren't the same as other stuff (kits and harnesses and components).

I've had great luck with SonicElectronics.com

in reference to stock speaker sizes, a 5x7 and 6x8 is the same size speaker. It just depends on who you are buying it from.
