usb cord wiring

I want to run a usb cable from in the center console to somewhere near the drivers side vent. I ordered a 10 foot cable, so that should be plenty long enough to do this but im wondering if anyone has any advice as to how I should run the wire. Are the vents accessible enough for me to have the wire come out of it? If not, ,maybe ill go along the door in the weather seal so you dont see it. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

The side panel beside the vent just pops out and reveals one torx screw to remove vent. You could tap into the USB 2 port right at the computer by using a micro USB adapter

You're talking about the vent against the drivers window? And where would I find the USB 2 port?

Remove passenger side centre console side panel (drivers side might work) behind heater controls there is a computer with a black port with a cord running from it to the USB port in centre console. Next to that there is a grey port (usb2) it takes a male micro USB cable or adapter to plug in.

I'm waiting for my adapter to arrive. I can't remember where the how to is.

Yes I'm talking about the vent by the window. The centre vent comes out with the radio.

Thanks for the info! I just found the How-to on it. Looks pretty simple. Ill order one of those converters and see if I can manage to get the cable to my drivers side vent.

Any idea how to get that black circle rivet looking thing off? It's what holds the side panel on. Ive tried putting a small screwdriver in there and prying it from the side with a flat head but I just couldn't get that thing off

I have a special tool for pulling those plugs. It makes getting those plugs out really easy. It's about $8 for the tool. No idea what it's really called. I used touse side cutters to get under the head and pry on something.
