Did they cuddle with you, at least?

I have never paid that much for tint before in my life.. I've had vehicles stripped and re-tinted (from reputable shops with name-brand film) for less than that...

If you haven't pissed someone at the dealership off when you're buying a car, you're not doing something right, be it the sales guy for making him run back and forth to find the exact car you're wanting or the guys at the sales tower who are "losing money on this deal!"

They want to make as much money off of you as they can, and you'll only want to pay what is absolutely necessary- two conflicting desires. Only difference is that if you get shafted, you'll regret the decision for the term of the loan while the dealership pockets the profits and move onto the next victim.

I paid 280 ish for mine, but my glass got etched in the process and my money was refunded to me.

It is Suntek CXP 35%

The mkIII either has very soft glass or there was some carelessness going into my tint job--I'm not sure which.

Did they tint the car while it was warm outside? Glass etches a LOT easier when it's hot. When I had my stratus stripped and re-tinted, the shop etched my back glass HORRIBLY (I lived in FL, so it was always hot as a mother). After fighting with them for two weeks, they replaced the back glass and ate the cost.

Glad to see that you were able to get your money back for it though- I wouldn't want to pay for a tint job that damaged my vehicle!
