06 Duratec 2.0 exhaust clip Lunchbox Delete

What's up everyone?

I was bored so I made a short sound video of my Foci w/ the lunchbox delete. Sorry about the quality, it was made w/ an iPhone and I basically just laid the phone down in the grass next to the driveway by the tailpipe. You get the idea even though all you can see is blurry grass. It doesn't sound this loud or good inside the cabin but I mainly did this b/c I just bought a magnaflow muffler and I'm going to have a shop install it this morning and wanted to see the difference although I don't expect it to be much.

Also, here is one of my engine bay that I just changed the valve cover gasket and cleaned it all up. I tried to get a shot of the stealth CAI at the very end. You can see the MAF and if you really know what you are looking for you can see the top of the AEM filter.

Enjoy! Comments welcome.

Exhaust sounds pretty good already and nice clean engine bay! What size muffler did you buy? Please post a pic of the new exhaust set-up, I really want to do a lunch-box delete with a Borla.

That's odd because I also have a d20 with the lunchbox delete and it sounds nothing like that. Maybe its because of your cold air, but mine sounds way "nicer" and not so harsh/raspy like that.

I think with the magnaflow installed it will likely sound much better.

The car basically sounded the same w/ just the lunchbox delete before the CAI but after that did make it a louder, especially under load.

I got the Magna flow welded in today and tires rotated for $40 (gotta love my shop - repeat customer discount). It's honestly right now not all that much louder but it is deeper. It will probably get a little louder too over the next thousand miles or so. Overall I'm happy. I didn't want to spend the money for a full cat-back but wanted a little sound but not a lot.

I'll try to post a comparison video in a couple days once it gets broken in a little.

It was 6'' round 2.25" diameter and 14 inches long. It's almost exactely the same size as the factory muffler. They just welded it in the exact same spot. I also have roughly 18'' of 2.25" pipe where the lunchbox used to be. That's my "setup" right now. I think I'm gonna ask the shop to weld in another 18" of 2.25" from the cat to the muffler that way I'll almost have a full 2.25'' cat back for "cheap" since my shop welds for me at low cost. They forgot left the exhaust hanger sticking down and it's about 4'' from the ground so I'm going back in next week to have them cut that off and ask at that point what it would cost to have another 18" welded in since it's already going to be up in the air.

Got a video of yours? I love the raspy growl

I was thinking I would get a video of mine for comparison, but it's a little bit rainy here to be tossing my iPhone into the grass. :)

I put my phone in a ziplock bag :)

Ha nice. I actually can't watch/listen yet b/c my work blocks YouTube. Gonna try to check on my phone right now though. I'll post up a sound vid of the Magnaflow hopefully sometime this weekend but it's supposed to be rainy and cold here for a few days so I may have to break out the plastic bag as well

A lunchbox delete is pretty much the stock 05-07 ST exhaust right?

I'm not sure about that, but it is the same as the 09 manual Coupe exhaust.

i don't know for sure but basically. It's just taking out that huge "lunchbox" that sits right behind your bumper and replacing with regular pipe.
