Talking Modded my 12

Well, I know that any mods done are a nice change of pace when you are on a budget.

Please excuse the cheap way I did things, but between the house, full time job, part time helping my father with his business and bills. I got a bonus check and decided to do some stuff to my 12. So here is what was done today on my day off.

Here is a pic of my make shift cold air intake. And still using the factory air box

And then I also installed my new dual exhaust with 4" tips

I know it not the full exhaust that was upgraded, but the upgraded muffler was worth it. I left both resonators in just to see how loud the exhaust would be. But I might take the smallest one out at a later date.

But let me know what you think of the work, and please be gentle. And again thank you for your comments

With the duals, it totally changed the look of the car. I was showing it off to my friends, at first they didn't notice the duals until they looked down. And it was shock and awe, one of them even asked if it had duals before. I had to position the tips even with the bottom side of the bumper, and to cut the holes for the tips I had to use a 5" whole saw and a neumatic body saw to cut off the extra material.

You can get all the intake parts at most auto parts places. I see them at pepboys all the time.

Also, I love the exhaust.

The exhaust looks great!

The intake filter is pretty darn small, that might be hurting your performance.

Believe me I found all of the parts from Pepboys auto parts store. The cone filter is from Spectre, it's the 3.8"x6" cone style filter, which is coupled to intake duct filter adapter, and a 3" to 2-1/2" coupler kit.

Spectre 3.8"x6" cone air filter- part # 8161
Spectre Intake Duct Filter Adapter- part # 8147
Spectre Coupler Kit- part # 8751

Once you get the parts, take an 8mm socket and ratchet and remove the air box cover and the remove the stock paper filter. Then take the Spectre coupler kit, use the 2-1/2" side and attach it to the mass air flow meter which is attached to the air box lower. Then use the intake duct filter adapter insert it into the 3" side. There should be half the adapter still showing and then take the cone filter and slide the filter onto to the adapter, then tighten the supplied worm clamps. And your done, easy as that and the nice thing is the top cover to the air box will fit on the lower portion.

Here is the finished product.

I notice a little bit of top end performance, but the lag with the sportmatic trans is not as bad as it use to be, but when you mash the go pedal. It will get up to speed in a hurry.

Now I'm going to warn you now, the intake sound I really loud. And I think the air box contributes to that, but the filter is pretty much out of the heat.

I didn't notice anything that looked cheap at all and that's due to the clean workmanship especially done on that intake.
